How it works

This medicine works by increasing the pain threshold and decreasing swelling. It also brings down elevated body temperature by acting on heat regulatory centers in the brain.

General Instructions

Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. You may take this medicine with or without food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. Usage should never exceed the recommended daily maximum dosage limit of 3900 mg in a 24-hour time period.

LANOL-ER is brand of paracetamol-650mg in extended release technology, where 325 mg of paracetamol releases immediately just in 60 sec for faster relief and remaining 325mg releases over the period of 8 hrs for consistent relief.

LANOL-ER gives relief in Mild to moderate Fever & Pain associated with the common cold, headache, toothache, muscular aches, backache and for arthritic pain.

Nausea or Vomiting, Allergic skin reaction, Gastric / Mouth Ulcer, Anemia, Fatigue, Unusual bleeding or bruising.

Description

Drinking alcohol with this medicine can have a severe effect on the liver.

Instructions

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with this medicine due to the increased risk of serious side effects such as severe gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, rashes, nausea, joint pain, fever, jaundice, etc.

Alcoholism

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with chronic alcohol use due to the increased risk of serious liver injuries. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Liver Disease

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with liver function impairment or active liver diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function is necessary while receiving this medicine. Report any symptoms such as nausea, fever, rashes, dark urine, etc. to the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

5-HIAA Urine Test

Use of this medicine may give a false-positive result for this test. It is advised to inform the doctor and lab technician about the consumption of this medicine before the test is performed. This is not an exhaustive list of possible drug interactions. You should consult your doctor about all the possible interactions of the drugs you’re taking.

  • Adults and children 12 yrs of age and older:
    1-2 Tablets 3 times a day i.e. every 8 hrs.
  • Total daily dose should not exceed 6 tablets or 4 gms.
  • The tablet should be swallowed whole with water.
  • It should not be crushed, chewed or dissolved in water.
  • For children less than 12 years the tablet can be broken in half and administered.

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • Are allergic to paracetamol or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
  • Have suffered from alcoholism.
  • Have severe kidney or liver disease.

  • Keep away from children.
  • Keep in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Store at room temperature (20-250 C).
